My Story

Emily Strom was raised in a musical family, learning to sing and play piano from a young age. Classically trained as a young child, Emily switched over to jazz upon entering college.

In 2008, Emily won the Miss Kansas competition along with both the Margene Savage Memorial Top Vocalist Award and the Debra Dene Barnes outstanding instrumentalist Scholarship.  She went on to travel the state and country as Miss Kansas 2008.  Emily went back to WSU the following year and graduated with a jazz piano degree.

Upon graduating, Emily spent a couple years exploring a television career but decided music was where her heart belonged all along.  She spent years in cover bands and leading her own bands, The Emily Strom Trio and Emily Strom & The Ladybyrds.

Emily released her debut album, Waltz in the Dark, in 2014. It's an impressive album, featuring ten original tracks from a talented songwriter who can hold her own playing at a jazz club in New Orleans, a Sunday morning church service in Kansas or a rowdy bar in Boston.

For the last decade, Emily has traveled the states as well as the Baltic Sea area to perform as a dueling pianist for various companies like Fun Pianos, Howl at the Moon aboard Norwegian Cruise Line, Michael Murphy's Dueling Piano Bar, Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano Bars, Fun Pianos & HiFi Productions.

You can now find Emily playing most of her shows in Kansas with HiFi Productions, teaching lessons to aspiring musicians of all ages and raising her two children.
